Hike Description:  November is National American Indian Heritage Month. Our final waterfall chase will be in honor of the Indigenous peoples that once owned the land on which we live and recreate. We will visit Oconee Station State Historic Site in Walhalla, SC. This historical site includes a stone building (1792) built by state militia to protect against Indian raids. It later became an Indian trading post.   After visiting the historic site, we will hike 1.6mi through an old-growth forest to Station Cove Falls, a 60-foot stepped waterfall. This is an out and back trail. Total miles will be 3+ miles.

What to Bring: Walking shoes or hiking boots. Dress appropriately for forecasted weather. Trekking poles optional. Snack/lunch and 2L of water. Medications, if necessary.  Check out our partners REI's Day Hiking Essentials List to make sure you have the appropriate gear.  *Ch8sing Waterfalls has a lending library.  Should you need to borrow hiking poles, a backpack, and even hiking shoes, please make a note on your registration.
